Local Architects in Angus, Dundee, Fife and Perthshire

The Dundee Institute of Architects Sole Practitioners Group was established some fifteen years ago by a small group of Chartered Architects who worked on their own,  The aim was to meet regularly to discuss matters of common interest and to organise Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training sessions. The criteria for being in the group was that the member was the sole architect  in the office.

Over the years the group has maintained a membership of around 12 architects, and continues to meet on a regular basis. If you are a sole Practitioner you perhaps have to keep even more up to date with for each Building Regulations, Health and Safety, new materials as there is no one else in the office to ask, and every job that passes through the office gets undivided attention as works cannot be delegated to less experienced staff.

You get a very personalised service of a sole practitioner with many years of experience, not a recent graduate or office junior, here you only deal with the owner of the business. The Group as a whole and individually have a wealth of architectural experience, with backgrounds in government buildings, private residences, schools, churches, community buildings. On occasion some of the members have joined forces to enter architectural competitions.
